Venue Review: High Billinghurst Farm
One of the many aspects of celebrancy work that I love is being able to perform ceremonies in at incredible venues. Whether it’s your own garden or a stately home, each venue comes with it’s own character with augments the ceremony.
Over the last couple of years I’ve been involved in numerous weddings at High Billinghurst Farm in Dunsfold. It’s one of my favourite places as there are a diverse range of locations for ceremonies on the farm which gives you the opportunity to express creativity and imagination. The venue is incredible. I have had the honour of performing weddings in just about every space on from the recently restored barns, a walled rose garden, a stone circle, woodland and fields! There is an area for glamping with toilet pavilion and showers which is available for hire and some on-site accommodation in the Stable Cottage.
They hold a very limited number of weddings in any one year in order to maintain a high level of exclusivity, ensuring each one is totally unique and special.
High Billinghurst Farm really is a hidden gem. Moreover owners Tom and Sally-Anne have lovingly restored this venue and they’re just fabulous people.
There is somewhat of a ‘blank canvas’ feel to this venue which means that you can put your own stamp on the day. For example, last year I performed Laura and Kevan’s wedding in the woodland. Their Wedfest reception looked like so much fun! Because the wedding was in the woodland adjacent to the field where their reception would take place, there was a lovely ethereal feel to the setting – and it felt like we were talking in a Midsummer Night’s Dream!
Later in the year I had the opportunity to do a couple of weddings in the barns. Originally Gemma and James’ wedding was due to take place in the walled rose garden. However, the weather gods stepped in and it rained. This didn’t dampen spirits in the slightest! We simply moved the ceremony into the 16th Century barn and created a beautifully intimate atmosphere with lots of candles and fairly lights. It became one of my all time favourite weddings! Afterwards guests sipped champagne by the fire and enjoyed a family style mezze wedding breakfast at long tables.
Everything from simple ceremonies to uber stylish events can be accommodated here. It’s regularly used for photography shoots and industry events. High Billinghurst Farm is a MUST venue to add to your list of potential wedding locations in Surrey!
