Celebrants create and deliver bespoke, heartfelt ceremonies that celebrate life’s special moments – from weddings and vow renewals to naming ceremonies, adult re-namings, transition ceremonies, celebrations of life and funerals. My role is to make your day unforgettable, filled with love, laughter, and meaning.

Absolutely! There are no cookie-cutter scripts, no rules, and no restrictions. Whether you want a traditional feel, something quirky, or even a theme, I’ll craft a ceremony that’s 100% you, written from scratch with your unique story included. 

Anywhere you like! A woodland, a beach, your back garden, a cosy pub, or a grand venue – the choice is yours. The venue does not have to be licensed. No restrictions, just pure freedom.

For Funerals and Celebrations of Life while I do plenty of ceremonies in crematoriums, increasingly families are choosing to hold farewells in other venues such as natural burial grounds, forests, private properties, hotels, pubs and village halls. Wherever feels meaningful. 

Only if you’d like me to! Your ceremony is about you, so if you’d like prayers, blessings, or rituals from any tradition, I’ll weave them in beautifully. If you prefer a non-religious ceremony, I can do that too!

As an Independent Celebrant, I believe in the freedom of choice of the couples and families I serve. 

As long as you like.

Most wedding or vow reneal ceremonies last around 30-40 minutes, but it’s entirely up to you. I’ll make sure it’s just the right length to keep everyone engaged and entertained.

For Funerals and Celebrations of Life, if taking place in a crematorium the length may be dictated by availability. Elsewhere you often won't have a time restriction.

Not yet! In the UK, celebrants can’t legally marry couples (hopefully, that’ll change soon). But most couples do the paperwork at a registry office beforehand, then have the real celebration with me – the one that reflects your love story, your way...without any of the usual restrictions.

A traditional Registrar is there to handle the legal side of things – they take care of registering your marriage in law, making sure all the paperwork is in order. But when it comes to the ceremony, it’s a bit more standardised, formal and restrictive.

A Celebrant, on the other hand, is all about creating a ceremony that’s totally about you. While Celebrant-led ceremonies aren’t legally binding (that part is done separately, and there are plenty of ways to sort that out), they offer way more flexibility and freedom. You won’t be restricted by rules – you can have a ceremony that’s personal, creative, and totally unique. Whether you want to include special rituals, tell your story, or just make it your own, a Celebrant can do all that for you.

Yes, please! Personal vows make a ceremony extra special. I can help you write them if you’d like, or give you a gentle nudge in the right direction if you get stuck. Many of the couples I work with keep their vows as a surprise to each other until the big day (with my help). If you'd prefer not to write your own vows, I can write them for you!

When couples book me for their ceremony I will give them my guide to writing personal vows as well as offer a Vow POWer Hour workshop. 

As soon as possible! Popular dates get snapped up quickly, especially in wedding season. I only do one ceremony a day and take bookings on a first come, first served basis. But even if it’s short notice, reach out – you never know!

Yes! I love to travel and am happy to come to you. There are some additional charges with overseas weddings to cover my travel time, travel expenses and accommodation. I do a limited number of overseas weddings every year to ensure that we have a brilliant experience working together!

Yes, if you’d like one! Some couples love a full run-through, while others prefer to go with the flow on the day. By the time you get to the big day, you'll be familiar with your script and most couples don't therefore want to do a full rehearsal although they'll practice the ceremony entrance. I’ll guide you through everything, so you’ll feel confident and relaxed.

I do, and I consider it a deep privilege to honour a life with a personal ceremony. I work closely with families to create a ceremony that truly reflects their loved one, whether it’s traditional, uplifting, or something completely unique.

Yes! Whether for a new baby, an adopted child, or even an adult changing their name, a naming ceremony is a joyful, personalised way to celebrate identity and belonging.

I offer gender affirmation or transition ceremonies as well as adult namings because as an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community I firmly believe that everyone has the right to honour and celebrate their identity in a way that is personal and meaningful to them.
