Venue Review: Russets Country House + Venue

Last weekend I had the opportunity to collaborate with some fellow industry suppliers at the Russets Country House Wedding Fair with the help of the fabulous Hannah from Bride by Aster. I’ll be blogging about some of the wonderful suppliers I met separately over the coming months. Needless to say they are all outstanding at their craft! For now, it seems only appropriate to share a little about the venue – Russets Country House.

When it comes to events, it’s often all about location, location, location. Located in the Surrey Hills just outside of the charming village of Chiddingfold, Russets is within easy reach of London and the South Coast. Chiddingfold is a thriving village complete with several fantastic pubs (The Winterton Arms for a post wedding Sunday Lunch is a must!), a picturesque church and several places for weary guests to rest their sore heads after the festivities.

What struck me the most about Russets was the genuinely warm welcome that owners Tim and Kate, extend to everyone who walks through the door. It feels like you’re walking into a home rather than an ‘event space.’ They have done an outstanding job at restoring the house and turning it into an space that feels like a home away from home. Exquisitely furnished, Russets provides a touch of luxury while still remaining intimate and relaxed.

There are multiple spaces to use throughout your wedding day. Ceremonies for up to 150 people can be accommodated and more for evening parties. The gorgeous wooden arbor in the garden is a stunning place to hold your ceremony (whether with a celebrant and/or registrar) as well as a gorgeous indoor ceremony room if the weather isn’t amenable! The reception space is wrapped around the fireplace next to a well stocked bar.

The fact that there are many different rooms available means that you can use each in different ways. For example, one of the rooms can be set up as a childcare space complete with big bean bags to lounge on – frankly, I think the adults may want some time relaxing on the bean bags more than the children!

Tim and Kate, thank you so much for a fantastic day. I’m looking forward to collaborating with you in the future!
