This black and white, Gothic-themed wedding shoot is a hauntingly beautiful inspiration for anyone looking to add a touch of dark elegance to their special day. Isabella and Jessica are a real couple and also inspire others through their modelling work. They’ve also been preparing for their own wedding next year and love picking up pieces of inspiration at every shoot! This styled shoot wasn’t just about capturing beautiful images; it was about sharing a piece of their journey and offering inspiration to other couples who want to infuse their weddings with a touch of magic and individuality.

The venue for this styled shoot is the uber-cool @ironhousebrum, an industrial space that served as the perfect canvas for our Gothic-inspired wedding vision. With its exposed brick walls, dark wood accents, and just the right amount of eerie lighting, this venue set the stage for a celebration that felt both intimate and otherworldly.

The decor and stationary, meticulously crafted by @foxgloveandblack, is where the magic really happened. Think skulls, spider webs, and dark florals—everything you need to create a moody, atmospheric setting that’s perfect for a Halloween wedding. And there was also an epic cake! Created by @blueberrymooncakes, their black and white confection was a work of art, with intricate details like lace patterns and skull motifs that perfectly captured the theme.

The Dresses: Gothic Glamour Meets Modern Romance
The dresses chosen for Isabella and Jessica were nothing short of breathtaking. Chosen by @ryleyandflynn, the gowns embraced the Gothic theme while incorporating elements of modern bridal fashion. Jessica donned a stunning black lace dress, with intricate patterns that echoed the ornate design elements seen throughout the shoot. The hair and makeup, expertly crafted by @sensualpassions, perfectly captured the Gothic essence of the shoot while enhancing Isabella and Jessica’s natural beauty. Both brides sported bold, dramatic looks that complemented their individual styles. Jessica’s makeup featured smoky, dark eyes and a deep, vampy lip, adding a touch of dark glamour to her look. I wanted the ceremony part of the shoot to reflect the gothic theme with some unique and inspiring symbolism. And never one to pass up dressing for the theme, I donned a sparkling black robe!

Isabella and Jess shared personal vows read from vow booklets which were designed with intricate details featuring skulls and spider webs. Drawing from their real feelings, their vows were filled with heartfelt words, promises of love, loyalty, and a cosmic connection that only they share.

A Fun Twist: The Tequila Shot

One of the most playful elements of the ceremony was the inclusion of a tequila shot —yes, you read that right! Reflecting the Isabella and Jess’ fun-loving personalities and their desire to make every moment of their celebration uniquely theirs, the tequila, poured from a crystal skull decanter, symbolised celebration, boldness, and the fiery spirit of their relationship.

As the couple raised their glasses, I shared a toast “To love, to life, and to the magic that brought you together.” 

Jumping the Broom: A Leap into the Future

To conclude the ceremony, Isabella and Jessica honoured the tradition of Jumping the Broom. This ritual, rich in history across several cultures, symbolises sweeping away the past and leaping into a future filled with love and new beginnings. The broom used in the shoot was decorated with black and white ribbons and tiny charms, perfectly in keeping with their Gothic theme.

With all of us watching in anticipation, Isabella and Jessica took a running start and jumped over the broom, hand in hand, as we erupted in applause. This powerful moment perfectly encapsulated the essence of their relationship—joyful, daring, and deeply connected.

After the ceremony, the reception setup continued the theme of dark elegance, with tables draped in black velvet and centrepieces featuring a mix of black and white roses and skulls. The flickering candlelight added a touch of enchantment, making the entire space feel like something out of a dark fairytale.
