Corinne + Andy’s Celebrant Ceremony: A Love Story Set In Surrey!

Love has an extraordinary way of finding us when we least expect it. For Corinne and Andy, their journey to each other was one marked by wisdom, life’s lessons, and a deeper, more mature kind of love. Finding love the second time around brought with it an understanding of what truly matters: the joy of companionship, the blending of families, and a commitment rooted in faith. Their celebrant ceremony wedding in Surrey was a testament to this — a celebration of love, life, and community.
The Venue: A Historic and Iconic Setting
Corinne and Andy exchanged their vows in the Saxon Church of St Peter and St Paul in leafy Albury, Surrey. This ancient church, a charming blend of history and spirituality, has been a place of worship for nearly 1,000 years. Though primarily used for smaller services since the construction of a larger parish church in 1839, the intimate setting of this historic building provided the perfect backdrop for their celebrant ceremony. Film enthusiasts might recognise it as a setting in the beloved British classic Four Weddings and a Funeral, adding a cinematic charm to the day. Sadly Hugh Grant was no where to be seen!

Despite the rainy and muddy weather outside, the atmosphere within the church was warm, inviting, and brimming with love. Friends, family, and faith gathered together, transforming the space into a haven of joy.
A Celebrant Ceremony Filled with Tradition and Personal Touches
Corinne and Andy’s ceremony reflected their desire to honour both tradition and individuality. As an independent celebrant, I had the privilege of working with them to craft a service that embraced their Christian beliefs while telling their unique story. The result was a beautiful blend of the sacred and the personal, with every element imbued with meaning.

Corinne was a vision in white while Andy dressed to impress in a hot pink velvet suit and personalised trainers! Followed by an army of bridesmaids – both adults and children – they were embraced in a wide circle of support!
The incredible Made with Grace Floral Design created a stunning floral arch in the middle of the church decorated with beautiful English country flowers in shades of pink and green.
Corinne surprised Andy and walked down the aisle to a beautiful rendition of Consider Me (by Allen Stone) sung by Get Gospel. A man of few words, the look of love on Andy’s face, said it all. It was a breathtaking moment and I found myself tearing up!
The ceremony began with the hymn “How Great Thou Art,” a song dear to Corinne and Andy’s hearts. Its powerful lyrics, made even more special by Corinne’s love for country music and Carrie Underwood’s rendition, set the tone for a deeply spiritual service. The stunning Get Gospel added their melodic brilliance, filling the church with uplifting music, including a soul-stirring performance of Stormzy’s “Blinded by Your Grace.”

Personal readings added an intimate touch, with both mothers sharing heartfelt words. Andy’s mum, Christie, crafted a beautiful poem celebrating their love, while Corinne’s mum, Annette, read Donna Ashworth’s poignant “Yellow,” reminding everyone of the importance of those who bring light into our lives. These contributions made the ceremony a true family affair.

Finding Love Again: Corinne and Andy’s Journey
Corinne and Andy’s love story is one of serendipity, courage, and a little bit of cheek. The two met through their professional lives and built a strong friendship over the years. Their first official date took place at the theatre, where Corinne, ever the bold one, made the first move with a kiss. Andy, in his own understated way, played it cool, but Corinne’s heartfelt confession of love just a month later sealed the deal.
Andy’s children, along with Corinne’s son became an integral part of their relationship. Together, they created a blended family filled with love and laughter, transforming their house into a true home. Their shared adventures, from mountain biking (including a memorable moment when Corinne turned up with all the gear but no bike) to romantic weekends away, highlight the joy and spontaneity that define their bond.
A Proposal to Remember
Andy proposed to Corinne at home on Christmas Eve 2023, surrounded by loved ones. True to form, Corinne was caught off guard and initially thought he was joking. But the moment felt undeniably right, and her joyful “yes” marked the beginning of their next chapter. Their love story, characterised by honesty, humour, and mutual respect, is one that inspires and uplifts.
Faith at the Heart of Their Union
As an Independent Celebrant, I treasure the opportunity to incorporate elements of faith into ceremonies. For Corinne and Andy, their Christian beliefs were a cornerstone of their wedding day. The service included prayers I had the pleasure of writing, hymns that carried personal significance, and blessings that resonated deeply with their spiritual journey.

The vows they exchanged were a beautiful reflection of their commitment to one another. Their promises to love, honour, and cherish each other were spoken with sincerity and grace. The ring exchange included a wonderful spontaneous bit of humour from their sons (well played boys!) and heartfelt prayers.
Celebrating at High Billinghurst Farm
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at High Billinghurst Farm, a stunning venue that perfectly complemented the chic yet relaxed atmosphere of the day. Guests were treated to a warm and lively reception including a brass band, where the joy of the occasion carried on well into the night.
A Reflection on Love and Marriage
Corinne and Andy’s wedding was more than a celebration of their love; it was a testament to the beauty of finding love later in life. Their journey reminds us that love is not bound by time but grows richer with experience. It’s a love that values authenticity, cherishes family, and embraces faith. For them, marriage is not just a union of two people but a blending of lives, hopes and dreams. It’s a reminder that the best is often yet to come and that every chapter of life holds the potential for joy and connection.

To Corinne and Andy, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day. Your love story is one I will always treasure, and I know that the future holds countless blessings for you both.
Here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of happiness!
Feedback
“Miranda was an absolute JOY to work with – so diligent, so personal and just made our ceremony so special. She is so experienced that you feel in such special and safe hands. Her ceremonies feel personal, and they are – she spends time getting to know you and making sure your day runs smoothly. The heavens started opening with rain as I pulled up in the car to our church – it was very comforting to see Miranda’s smiling face with her colourful umbrella to greet me. We ended up having the best day – and the sun came out for us! I would recommend her!“
